Marionette Lines

The signs of time and aging do not just stop at the corners of our mouths or under the eyes. Puppet fold also known as ‘Merkel line’ or ‘Marionette Lines’ are lines that go from the corner of your mouth down towards the lower line of the lower jaw, sometimes even as an extension of the nasolabial fold and negatively impacts your facial expression. Sagging checks or deep furrows along those lines do not have to be tolerated. There are treatment options that can help improve the way they look.

Treatment Options

HIFU

This non-invasive treatment is used for lifting and tightening the skin on the face and neck.

HIFU has shown to improve Marionette Lines. It works by using beams of ultrasound to generate low levels of heat to the tissue beneath the skin causing tighten up by stimulating natural collagen production.

Usually about two to three sessions are recommend and results can last up to 18-24 months with no downtime.

Mesotherapy

If the mentolabial fold is pronounced, the appearance of the drooping corners of the mouth is prominent and the face is often left looking sulky or bitter. 

Mesotherapy helps to raise the corners of your mouth and makes your face look happier and fresher.  The active ingredients are injected under the skin and remains under the skin for 4 to 6 months, the effect of the treatment lasts for about a year. 

In the case of very deep puppet folds, it is advisable to repeat the treatment every six months.
